The Cover was created last week (2/10)
And this song was more rythmic than "Gabriel"

This latest information was given to us by Najoua herself who came to "tchat" on the forum last week (Oct. 3rd). She said that the clip was being filmed soon, that the cover had been made the day before and that indeed, this new song "La Bienvenue" would be even more upbeat than Gabriel! The wait is almost over and she has also released info that other "surprises" are to come in November! If another tchat (official) is in the making, a message will be sent to all so that more than a few people are here to tchat. Najoua came by her own on Oct. 3 and started to tchat with the people that were on the forum at the time. She is so simple and symphatic

I myself like to listen to arabic music, italian, spanish, peruvian, etc. and I don't understand the words but the music and melody takes me away Cool

YES of course! I agree as well, obviously because French isn't an official language in Australia, but that doesn't stop people learning and loving French and other languages as well. And what better way to help your learning and love for a language than to listen to a singer's beautiful music Very Happy

Sometimes I discuss about music with my friends, what we like, dislike… I have shown Belyzel’s “Quand revient l'été” some time ago to friends (very nice song for me Smile

) But it has made no impression. Just “nice” song of “unknown” singer. The problem is not in language itself. It is because Belyzel looks here like, how to say it more exactly, “one of a million” foreign singers. I think it is needed to launch entertainment industry machine to make some singer really popular in some country: TV shows, interviews, advertisements, magazine publications, live performances, etc.

What about languages. I heard many times from many people who listen foreign music such kind of opinion: “When I did not know language and could not understand what the song is about, I liked it, but when I learned language (or got translation) I was often disappointed and stopped to love the song Smile

”
So sometimes knowledge of language can make more negative effect than positive Smile

YEs, it can make people dislike a song when they do know the lyrics but musical taste is a very personal choice - I guess we can't "make" people like Najoua but we surely will try! Razz

You made you friends listen to Quand revient l'été, a very warm, orchestral rendition and not very fast tempo - what about Gabriel or Je ferme les yeux? These two are very "club" like in a sense? We could go on and on about this but what is important is that YOU like her and ARE a fan of her sunny

I agree also that to make a singer an international name (like Céline Dion) you need a high efficiency machine behind that will do the most exposure to promote the singer in question. I'M not sure that Najoua is able to with the team presently... but hey, anything can happen in life - lets cross fingers that she does break the market UNIVERSALY :ok2:

Yes, there were few more songs discussed. Unfortunately one opinion about Gabriel was quite negative. Even I was little surprised that such song was Najoua's and France No 1 some time ago Smile

The songs which were described as "interesting" and "catchy" were Je ferme les yeux and L'écho du bonheur (I like them too Smile

). This is all opinions which I managed to got then. It cannot be discussed each song in details with people who are not attracted by suggested music. Anyway it is just opinion of 2-3 people what is not representative Smile

So, of course, music taste is very individual. Lets keep fingers crossed and hope that Najoua will be international star very soon Smile

The album Au Féminin should hit stores in May 2009 The downloaded version of La Bienvenue is presently available for "legal" download on many music sites - do a search if you don't want to wait for the "real" single

Edit : The album will be FINALLY released on November 23rd 2009! To your credit cards to order (or pre-order) on Amazon or buy directly in France for the lucky ones
